A traditional empennage was selected for its well-known stability characteristics and sound structural integrity. The integration of a high-aspect ratio wing provides the aircraft with a higher cruise range and lower fuel consumption. In addition, a non-retractable landing gear reduced both weight and overall cost of the aircraft by eliminating unnecessary complexities. The Valens NRG features a tractor configuration to train new pilots in operating more traditional configurations of aircrafts. The center of gravity of the engine, aircraft, and payload were placed in close proximity to each other for highest degrees of stability. The Valens NRG aircraft provides pilots and passengers, new and old, a renewed sense of recreational and commercial aviation.
